Jaw joint treatment

Do you recognize the following symptoms?

  • Tension headache
  • Pain in the jaw
  • Difficulty opening your mouth
  • Bites together
  • Pressing the tongue
  • Tinnitus
  • Clenching of the jaw joint
  • Pain in the neck

Muscular problems are the most common. They are usually related to overuse such as teeth grinding and clenching. Tooth grinding involves rubbing your teeth together. The other variant is that you ‘clench your teeth’, you grit your teeth. The force developed against the teeth can be very strong and sometimes lead to the breakage of dental fillings. Both of these conditions involve overloading the jaw muscles. Muscles tire quickly and you get jaw pain and/or headaches. It is common to grind or clench teeth at night. In the mornings, you feel stiff and tired in your jaw muscles, and also have a headache.

What is a treatment?

A jaw joint treatment takes about 60 minutes and I go through the entire jaw muscles, including muscles inside the mouth. Using a variety of techniques, your jaw muscles will be massaged, stretched, pressurized and stretched. I also go through the neck and release all tensions.

How often do you have to go?

You’ll notice a big difference after just one TMJ treatment. Most people also experience a very large improvement in night-time sleep. 4-8 times is recommended, but this is individual.
